“Displaying God’s Wondrous Works

“Heaven on Earth” Stars Go Dim

I love how this song has a modern feel interwoven with a classic hymn.  Hymns possess rich theology!  Today’s song includes parts of the hymn “Take My Life and Let It Be” with a practical approach to life.  The chorus blends this concept so well.

“Take my life and let it be
Set on fire for all to see
Break me down, build me up again
Don’t leave me the way I’ve been
Take my heart into Your hands
Come and finish what You began
‘Til I seek Your kingdom first
‘Til I shine, shine
Like Heaven on earth
Like Heaven on earth”

As I navigated my healing process and knew I needed to choose joy, that concept became more than words from a timeless song. This became a daily intention.  I literally had to pray, “Lord, take my life and use it how you see fit.”  It was hard to release control of my “new life” to the Lord.  However, this release is one of the reasons I am writing this.  God was spurring me to tell His story of how He worked in my life.  My husband and many others not only encouraged me to share God’s wonderful works but also told me that I had too share God’s story.

I hope as you read this, you will see how God has done amazing things in my life!  I hope that you see a glimpse of heaven on earth as you learn what God has done.

Scripture frequently reminds us of the importance of sharing God’s greatness.  God has provided an abundance of wondrous works in my life. As you read these verses, ponder what God has done in your own life.  Praise Him and show others the greatness of God!

Psalm 71:17-21

O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.

Now also when I am old and gray-headed,
O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation,

Your power to everyone who is to come.

Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high,

You who have done great things;

O God, who is like You?

You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, Shall revive me again,

And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side.

Psalm 75:1

We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!

For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Psalm 105:1-5

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Call upon His name;

Make known His deeds among the peoples!

Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;

talk of all His wondrous works!

Glory in His holy name.

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His face evermore!

Remember His marvelous works which He has done,

His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth.”
