“More Miracles”

“Miracles” Colton Dixon

Another miracle song?  Absolutely!  As the stormy trials were clearing and I began to soar, how could I not look back at all I had been through and not see miracles?  God worked miraculously in my life!  From the physical healing outlined yesterday to emotional healing, I saw how my resiliency propelled me from darkness to light.

God knew when He gave me a fighting spirit that I would need it to combat the physical, emotional, and spiritual struggles that I experienced.

I Corinthians 2:9 tells us,

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man

the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

God did prepare me for this battle, but He also prepared me for the healing.  I don’t think I could ever tire of listening to this song.  My favorite part is the second verse.

“Some will say it’s magic
But I know that You did all that
You’re the reason, there’s no doubt

Doesn’t matter just how many times I tried
There could only be a single reason why
So tell me”

The word’s of Colton’s song, especially the chorus, always lighten my heart.

“How do miracles just happen like that?
Happen like that, happen like that
You can say the stars align but
I know that it’s more than timing
How do miracles just happen like that?
Happen like that, happen like that
Right before I hit the ground some
How You came along and found me, ooh, ooh
Right before I hit the ground some
How You came along and found me”

I had the privilege of seeing Colton in concert recently.  At his Q&A session, I asked, “Did you experience your own miracle?  Is that why you wrote the song?”  He expressed that at the time of writing the song, he had not. But God gave Colton the lyrics to that song because he needed his own miracle in his family after the writing of the song.

This song resonates deeply with my soul, and I’m incredibly thankful that God gave Colton that powerful and encouraging message.

From my perspective, my physical and emotional healing are truly miraculous. I firmly believe it is only because God reached down into my life!

Through our mighty, strengthening Savior, miracles happen.

The following images display the progression of healing in the months following the accident. As difficult as it may be to view these, the scars remind me of all God has done.
